tentenfifteen

Adrienne and I left the cool climes of Seattle and headed to the warmer ones of Los Angeles to celebrate our five year anniversary. Despite the 100+ degree temperatures, the trip was a little slice of heaven. In fact, the hot weather helped make it so.

We rented a little stone cabin deep into Topanga Canyon, off one of the curvy mountain roads that famously connects the various parts of LA. Topanga runs between Malibu and The Valley - and once you're in it, you'd never know the nation's second largest city literally surrounds you. Nothing but nature, quiet, and starry nights that suggest your far away from civilization.

We spent our days entirely wrapped in leisure. Sleep in, stay at the cabin reading and doing yoga until it got too hot, head to the beach (15 mins away), go in the water, go to another beach, go in that water, then head back to the cabin once it was cool for dinner and vino under the stars. On 10-10-15, we went to the Inn at the Seventh Ray, and old LA haunt famous for its new California cuisine, visits from movie stars, and romantically lit outdoor seating under the sycamores and oaks. Its truly a magical place, complete with Bentleys and Ferraris gracing the valet parking lot. Our Chevy Spark was parked out of sight behind the kitchen.

It was a great weekend, just the two of us - a perfect way to celebrate five years of being married.

 AJ and Buddha.

Only in LA - we saw so many Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentleys, Rolls Royces, Maseratis, Aston Martins. This was a BMW i8, which I have not seen before - all electric.

Night time back at the cabin, sitting on the porch looking in.
